‘Safari’

/səˈfɑːri/
Noun

An expedition to observe animals in their natural habitat, especially in Africa.

In Swahili, the word safari means ‘journey’. A context that has recently lost its meaning for those who visit Africa’s national parks. It has become synonymous with sitting in a vehicle and looking at wildlife. When we talk about a safari journey, we want to make it absolutely clear that we don’t deal in mere safari trips. We need it to be more than that. Our specialty is to create those ever-lasting memories you can only experience whilst being on a true journey.

We are confident that the only way to exceed expectations is to start your journey with the right partner. This is why we want to be very transparent about our values and beliefs and how we bring these to our clients, so you can decide if we’re the right partner for you. This is because we value your time and how you choose to spend it.

The quality of your experience comes down to your connection with nature and wildlife. We believe the strongest experiences come from going out into the wild, at your own pace and by welcoming the unique and authentic encounters with Africa’s wildlife. It never fails to deliver breathtaking moments that cannot be bought or recreated. This is the greatest treasure of a safari journey. We don’t deal in plastic safaris. We understand that out there in the bush, we are but humble visitors in the domain of the animals.

We take care of clients who understand the rhythm of nature and are open to discovery. Coming to one of the most beautiful places on earth for only 1 or 2 days will not give you the experience you deserve. You will be forced to speed through the big five, not taking notice of all the smaller, equally exhilarating things. This is why we only specialize in longer journeys into the Kruger Park, ranging from 3 days to ... well, that's up to you.

Even though you’re out there in the bush all day, it doesn’t mean you can’t do it in style and retreat to a luxurious lodge for a perfect start and end to your day. From the moment you step into our vehicle, we want you to feel like you’ve entered a first-class flight. Our vehicle is specially outfitted with all kinds of add-ons, which make a huge difference in the level of comfort you will experience. In addition, we only work with lodges that are able to match our standards. We know that you might have had the best game drive experience yet, but a lacking lodge experience will have a serious impact on how you look back on your journey.

The fact that we do not own a lodge ourselves, while we have extensive hands-on expertise working in the best luxury lodges in the past, means we are free to choose the best lodges out there. We know what to look for and frequently try out the accommodations that make our favored selection. We will never offer you a lodge that hasn’t been thoroughly tested by our directors or that fails to consistently deliver premium value.

Getting that perfect shot is about more than a good camera and a beanbag. Our safari recipe is perfect for when you want to have a fully equipped photographic safari. Because you will be in your own vehicle, it means you will also be on your own time. We can stop at a sighting whenever you want, for as long as you want. Upon your arrival, we will have a welcome drink, where you will meet your safari host and reflect on your goals and define a clear image of what you want to see. Your safari host will then put all of his knowledge to work to ensure you have an optimal chance to get that golden encounter. Our vehicle is outfitted with quality beanbags and upon enquiry in advance, we can arrange special equipment to fulfil your every photographic need.

Our greatest advantage? Your safari host is extensively trained in interpreting and predicting wildlife behavior. All too often when going on a safari, a guide will prove to be merely a driver who knows the layout of the park, but not the behavior of the wildlife you encounter. Your success in getting that perfect shot will often depend on your safari host’s knowledge in interpreting the animal’s behavior and his ability to perfectly position the vehicle in time. Getting you that perfect opportunity to get the right angle, the right light and the best picture. When we look back on our guests’ greatest images, most of them are the result of photographic skills and animal behavior knowledge combined.

We even take it one step further. If you’re not a photography expert yourself, our safari host will always carry his own camera and save those precious encounters for you. After your journey has come to an end, these images will be delivered to you in high resolution.
